Winter "vacation"

So school is on winter vacation right now, but I still have to teach 2 weeks of Winter Camp, and I was just told that there are 3 days in early February where all the students go to school. I was like, "Do I have to teach them??" and my co-teachers said they're not sure. It depends on the principal. Uhh...these kids are NOT gonna pay attention! Are you kidding me? Kinda ridiculous to have the kids come to school for 3 days during winter vacation and expect them to sit in a classroom and listen. That's just crazy talk.

Today was the first day of Winter Camp and it went by pretty smoothly. My advanced class is all girls, which is a breeze. My second class has 5 boys who always stick together. I decided that in Winter Camp, I was gonna split the class into random teams. It just so happened that there is one boy in each group. The girls are not pleased with this, but I told them that they're going to high school next year. They're gonna need to learn to work with the opposite sex and with people that are not their friends. After I made them sit with their team, the classroom grew silent. It was amazing. They weren't sitting with their friends so there wasn't any random chatting. It was great! I think my classes had fun today, even with the mixed gendered groups!

In other news, I think I like to dig holes and that I am also not an actress. It's difficult. I want to go home!!!!!!!! But not until I go to Vietnam, which will be in less than 2 weeks! I just booked my ticket!! After 2 weeks of trying to buy it off Orbitz, I finally bought it off of Cheapoair! Orbitz's website is HORRIBLE! They need to improve on that. I called them to let them know!! :)

2011

I can't believe it's 2011! It's crazy! The past year has been an exciting time in my life! I turned 23 and then soon after, I moved to South Korea where I have been having the best experiences ever! But soon, I will be returning home to states, so I hope 2011 treats me as well as 2010 did. But we'll see!

Our New Year's celebration in Gwangju was fun, but it wasn't too extraordinary, not in my opinion at least. I had a fun time with my friends. We had galbi at the outdoor restaurant, then the girls got free drinks at German Bar, and then we went to Houze, which I didn't really wanna go to, but I did cuz the others REALLY wanted to go. I don't remember dancing much. Afterwards, Okailey and I had ramen at MiniStop, just like how the Koreans do. I was pretty blah that night, but whatever. It was just like any other night in downtown! Just changing years, that's all!
